Work Experience
MSS Registered Nurse
Currently working as a Registered Nurse at the Biolife Plasma Center. Started in June, 2023 until present, where I work at the clinic, performing physicals and assessments on donors at the center and reviewing blood work and managing care of donors pre, during, and post donations. Assessing bruises and venipuncture sites and determining donor eligibility with fda regulations and protocols. Registered Nurse IV Team
Upmc Presbyterian Hospital - Pittsburgh, PA
January 2018 to Present
I am currently working on the IV team at Upmc Presbyterian, where I travel to all hospitals in their system, such as Montefiore, and Western Psych. We also establish vascular access to all inpatient and outpatient departments at these hospitals. Including Intensive care units, pre and post operative, nuclear, radiology, cardiology, and Emergency departments. I am very skilled in peripheral iv’s as well as Midline and PICC line insertions via ultrasound ECG technology to confirm placements of PICC lines by cortrak and monitoring their P waves to confirm proper placement of PICC lines without X-rays to confirm if adequate P wave formations are visualized. As a iv team member placing PICC lines after proper look up of patients past medical history, current labs, and all diagnostics to make sure patients are able to safely receive PICC lines. Also on the iv team we place duo tubes via cortrak on patients needing supplemental nutrition. Our IV team also does all port access, deaccess, and dressing and needles changes. We also change PICC line dressing changes as well as central lines, and removal as a vascular access team as it has shown to decrease the amount of infections throughout the hospitals. We also do all troubleshooting to Midlines, PICC lines, and ports, and all central accesses other than dialysis lines. We also Cathflo any central line, per protocol, throughout all facilities and departments. I am also chemo certified and as a IV team member I assess and infuse all chemo infusions as well as injections to all patients needing chemo during their admission. I find that my skills and love of vascular access has been my thrive in all nursing jobs, but adding ultrasound PICC placement has brought my skills to a new level and excitement.
Dialysis RN
DCI Dialysis - Pittsburgh, PA
January 2017 to January 2018
I worked as a Dialysis Registered nurse at DCI outpatient dialysis center. There I was able to assess Renal patients by reviewing their past medical history. Then obtain weight and vital signs and work with the nephrology doctors to maintain a safe dialysis treatment by monitoring their vitals and running the dialysis machine to take an adequate amount of fluid off. I accessed ports, dialysis catheters, fistulas, and grafts. I also gave patients their iv medications as ordered during their dialysis treatments. I was able to take off the patients lines, by changing sterile dressing and keeping them free of infection and instilling cathflo (tpa) as needed to maintain their lines for their dialysis treatments.
