Purpose
I am a physician specializing in family medicine. I aspire to be an attending physician who is knowledgeable and caring. Making my patients feel heard and adequately cared for is my goal. Education
• University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
August 2012-December 2015
B.S. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and a minor in Chemistry
• Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
July 2016-June 2020
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Work Experience
• Summit Health
August 2023-present
Currently, I work as an attending physician with Summit Health. My specialty is family medicine and my work encompasses outpatient ambulatory medicine. My duties include diagnosing medical conditions, administering preventive care, organizing plans of care for complex patients, interpreting serum and imaging studies, educating and counseling patients, and performing minor procedures.
• Residency
June 2020-June 2023
I have completed residency at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine program, specializing in Family Medicine. My work encompassed a continuity clinic in Sewell, NJ, as well as the Jefferson Health New Jersey hospital system and Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden. I have gained experience in both the hospital and outpatient settings. Medical management of patients of all ages in the outpatient setting is the area in which I spent most of my time. This is also the area in which I focus. I also have learned about how to care for hospitalized patients during my training. Hands-on skills such as splinting, suturing, skin biopsies, incision and drainage of abscesses are areas in which I have some proficiency. I also possess proficiency in other areas such as interpreting imaging and laboratory values. I am also comfortable assisting in and/or taking the role as leader in medical emergencies.
• Clinical Rotations
June 2018-June 2020
Primarily in Brooklyn and Queens, my clinical rotations were integral to my development as a physician. I gained hands-on experience with patient care. I was able to suture lacerations, start IVs, insert foley catheters, and perform phlebotomy and arterial blood gas sampling as a student under supervision from residents. I gained experience discussing patients with attendings and participating in the medical management of patients.
Interests
Outpatient medicine, preventive care, patient education, patient advocacy Research Project
• Progression of chronic kidney disease and incidence of microalbuminuria in patients with diabetes who have hemoglobin A1c levels which are either <7% or between 7% and 8.5% July 2021-February 2023
This is my research project. It is a chart review, for which I designed the protocol. My intention was to see whether there is a statistical difference in progression of chronic kidney disease and/or incidence of microalbuminuria between individuals with hemoglobin A1c levels <7% and those with hemoglobin A1c levels between 7% and 8.5%. The study demonstrated that there is no statically significant difference in decline in renal function between these two groups. I presented my findings at the ACOFP 2023 poster presentation competition.
