Information Technology Professional
LESTER S. GROVATT
PROJECT MANAGER / PRODUCT MANAGER / DEVELOPMENT MANAGER I’m a hands-on IT professional looking for a senior leadership position where I would be able to apply my wealth of industry knowledge, decision making capabilities and leadership skills. The past decade of my career has been concentrated on application development in the public safety industry where I managed the SDLC process using both r apid application development (RAD) and Agile software development methodologies. During this time, I’ve managed or directed onshore and offshore software engineers, business analyst, functional architects, QA test and support.
I started my career as a hardware engineer working in the IBM “Research and Development Lab” where I spent over a dozen years within the HDLC process holding senior technical and management positions while being responsible for mainframe product signoff and release to manufacturing.
Throughout the years, I’ve also been in many customer facing roles while holding positions as a product manager, project manager, solution architect, sales engineer and support manager. Having spent over 30 years in the information technology industry, I have to admit that I have become more of a generalist at this point in my career. Having a deep understanding of IT architect, I have remained technical throughout the years, just not as technical as I once was. I’m still capable of running SQL enterprise manager to identify a long running query, a hung process, a fragmented index or I/O connection issue. The same is true for running a network trace or using operating system analysis tools such as the ones that come with the Microsoft Sysinternals suite. In my career, I have touched, interacted with or been under the covers of almost every discipline within the information technology industry. I have been designing, analyzing, architecting, integrating, deploying, testing, releasing, troubleshooting IT hardware, application software, operating system, database, network and telecom issues on mainframe, midrange and intel platforms all of my career.
In closing; I’m a information technology professional who is technical enough to carry a conversation with the smartest people in the room yet polished enough to present to senior executives or a room full of people. If given an opportunity, I’m sure can help your company compete and win!
Sincerely,
Les Grovatt
