CURRITUCK HOMES – Currituck, North Carolina

Superintendent / Troubleshooter (2014- Present)

• Hired by the owner of a residential developer to rectify problems that were occurring with site development contractors at various housing developments throughout northeast North Carolina.

• Hired a ran multiple crews and subcontractors for the installation of underground utilities, construction of lakes and runoff ponds, and installation or roads. Got projects back on track to meet tight delivery timelines.

I have a gap in enployment between 10-20-11 and 2013. I lost my job with Fullard Ernronmental control;s due to lack of work., during this time jobs were tight so my wife and I had purched a piece of raw land to build on. we rented eqiipment cleared the land, put in building pad, built a house and 25x32' shop landscaped the yard. when we finished I need something to do so I wanted to go back to work,and I really like any type of earthwork. I f it is built out of drit and rock with a set of plans I can build it.

FULLARD ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS, INC. (SBA 8A Contractor) – Ford City, Pennsylvania

Project Superintendent – Wilkes-Barre, PA (7/10-11/10)

• Managed diverse levee repair projects along a 20-mile stretch of the Susquehanna River. Supervised 12 tradesmen.

• Examined plans with Army Corps of Engineers and staff engineers, identifying and correcting numerous errors.

• Inspected job sites and equipment, chaired safety meetings, attended weekly production meetings with all stakeholders, and submitted daily reports to Corps of Engineers detailing progress, problems, recommended job add-ons, etc.

• Coordinated plan workups, materials procurement, quality assurance, on-site supervision, scheduling, daily tasking, licensing and permitting, inspections and sign-offs, summary reporting, and extensive interface with contractors, etc.

• Developed RFIs, documented grades of covered materials, rent and returned equipment, and facilitated lab tests of site samples. Overcame numerous complex hurdles to accomplish all assigned work within quality and cost parameters.

• Rescued Fullard from potential big-ticket cost overruns, fines and default penalties

Project Superintendent – Charleston Naval Weapons Station, SC (11/09-8/10)

• Managed the demolition and removal of a 33,000sf concrete pier on the Cooper River. Directed the efforts of 14 tradesmen.

• Fulfilled add-on work involving the demolition of various buildings on Naval Base Charleston as well as the inspection and repair of diverse erosion control systems throughout the complex.

• Conducted daily safety checks of all equipment to include 100-t, barge-mounted cranes, crane slings, wire rope, buckets, hydraulic hammers, concrete saws, and the full range of routine demolition project vehicles / equipment / gear.

• Chaired daily safety meetings and closely monitored production work to ensure strict compliance with safety procedures.

• Orchestrated the timely and cost-effective repair of equipment / vehicles as needed, using local sources.

• Prepared and emailed daily reports to U.S. Navy stakeholders as well as Fullard’s home office.

Project Superintendent – USAF Base Golf Course, Sumter, SC (12/08-11/09)

• Directed the complete construction of four golf course holes. Supervised 20 tradesmen and subordinate supervisors.

• Conducted daily safety meetings with company personnel and subcontractors. Monitored all work in progress.

• Attended all owner and contractor meetings to provide update briefs and subject matter expertise on construction matters.

• Prepared and processed all RFIs and monthly payment requests on a line-item, cost+ platform.

• Developed production schedules detailing work two weeks in advance allowing for as-built adjustments/refinements.

• Regularly met with Air Force officials to overview quality control issues during all phases of the project. Recommendations led to tens of thousands of dollars in add-on work to deliver optimal outcome. Final walk-thru received “Well Done” review.

GULF GROUP, INC. – Chipley, Florida

Construction Management, Environmental Restoration and Civil, Heavy, and Marine Construction Contractor

Project Superintendent – USDA Levee Reconstruction Project, Gainesville, FL (2/08-11/08)

• Directed the complete reconstruction of 13,500lf of levee through swampland. Managed 23 tradesmen and supervisors.

• Held safety meetings, checked equipment, and ensured timely supply of all fill materials and other project essentials. Required to locate local supply sources and transportation for voluminous fill material requirements.

• Developed and promulgated critical path production schedule and a one-week “look-ahead” projection to avoid delays or bottlenecks. Completed job 60 days ahead of schedule despite 30-day delay due to property line dispute, halting all work.

• Drew on extensive experience in levee work to examine prints and recommend production strategies for the construction of multiple water control structures. Directed all grade work for fill and structures.

• Despite no issuance of a punch list for the job, complimented on a job “well done” at the conclusion of walk-thru.

BERGERON LAND DEVELOPMENT – Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Superintendent – 184th Street Widening Project, ?City, FL (9/07-2/08)

• Directed 11 employees and four subcontractors in the half-mile widening of a major thoroughfare from two lanes to four lanes. Demolitioned curb and gutter, removed irrigation lines, removed surrounding growth and debris, excavated unsuitable materials, and placed approved fill material.

• Directed sub in laying storm drains, runoff infrastructure and other underground utility work.

• Oversaw site grading (fine), laying of stone, subcontractor pouring of new curb, and subcontractor for finished paving.

• Regularly interfaced with owner, contractors and project engineer to provide updates and solve problems.

• Completed project ahead of schedule and well within budget guidelines.

Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent – Housing Development Golf Course Repair, Coral Springs, FL (12/06-9/07)

• Simultaneously managed another company project that involved the repair of lakes and embankments around a golf course that had been overdug and were experiencing bank slides and deterioration of golf course surfaces.

• Led one foreman, 23 personnel and two subcontractors in the rebuilding of slopes and the creation of wetland areas in lakes. Constructed berms, pumped out water, and hauled and filled materials to raise lake bottom to wetland elevation. Planted marine plants and shored up all golf course embankments to ensure mitigation of similar events in the future.

Superintendent – Everglades Restoration Project (5/06-12/06)

• Provided on-site oversight and management control of a $13.5M project involving the excavation of 7 miles of canal and the construction of 10 miles of levees. Moved one million cubic yards of rock and earth in a 9-month period.

• Directed 2 subordinate superintendents, one foreman, 40+ tradesmen and the deployment of 32 pieces of heavy equipment.

• Interfaced directly with the owner of Bergeron to provide regular project updates. Managed three subcontractors.

• Chaired safety meetings, attended owner-contractor meetings, wrote FRIs, developed monthly payment submittals, and interfaced with job engineers to solve emergent challenges.

• Coordinated execution of all facets of the project, completing ahead of schedule with a 30-day punch list and avoiding $6500 in daily penalties for unfinished work. Meritoriously assigned to take over another company job that was in trouble (below).

DJW CONSTRUCTION (OOB) – Chesapeake, Virginia

Superintendent – Borrow Mine Construction Project (4/04-5/06)

• Full charge manager of the construction of a borrow pit under the mining construction classification.

• Led three heavy equipment operators in clearing land, stripping topsoil, excavating a ditch around the edge of the mine and setup of pumping equipment to remove water from the pit.

• Engineered a pit/mine that facilitated no double-handling of materials ... rare in the industry.

• Designed and constructed a filtering system to filter water prior to discharge from the site. Circumvented potential fines or EPA issues.

BELL CONSTRUCTORS – Rochester, New York

Project Superintendent – Everglades Restoration Project (2001-2004)

• Managed a large-scale ($33M) project involving the restoration of 18 miles of canals and 21 miles of levees in the Florida Everglades. Managed 50-60 Bell personnel.
