08/05-Present: San Antonio, Texas St. Lukes Baptist Hospital

I serve as a RN in a 30-bed Intensive Care Unit on the Dayshift 7A-7P, located

within the heart of our Medical Center and provide direct bedside care. I am the

Relief Charge Nurse, the Lead Preceptor for the Graduate Nurse Program by

interviewing for potential new hires and following them during their orientation

process. I function as the Chairperson for Visiting Hours Committee and am the

Fall Risk Champion. I also assist the Infection Control Committee in monitoring

prevalence for CLABSI (CENTRAL LINE ASSOCIATED BLOODSTREAM

INFECTIONS), and am a member of the RAPID REPSONSE TEAM (RRT).

Prior to the opening of our new ICU I had the privilege of working side by side

with the architects in designing the pillars inside each patient room that contain

oxygen/air/suction and electrical outlets. I work closely with TOSA Texas Organ

Sharing Alliance as well as our Clinical Educators providing Continuing

Education to the ICU staff on Caring for the Coronary Artery Bypass Patient

Immediate Post-op, Intra-aortic Balloon Pumping and Advanced Pacemaker

classes.
