Assignment: ITT Calculator Dashboard

Business Problem: ITT (Interconnect Technology Team) is a part of CQT

(Component Quality and Technology) group in TnQ (Technology and Quality)

organization in CVCM. Main purpose is to assess the reliability and

qualify components for all Cisco products. A majority of the qualification

cases involve review of supplier data and perform an assessment based on

Cisco internal reliability criteria. Currently most of the qualifications

are managed and performed by Cisco contractor Foxconn in China. Their main

duty is to process the "paper" portion, as well as engagement with

suppliers. Reliability calculations (prediction of the life of a component

assembled on a Cisco product before failure) are based on proprietary

internal data and simulations and are considered Cisco IP. Therefore the

calculations have to be secure, even though FOC is the main user of these

calculations. The calculations are in the form of excel spreadsheets and

are not secure. In addition to the reliability calculations, ITT currently

maintains a PNR tracking database which keeps track of qualification

status of each Cisco part number.

Solution: A Dashboarding Solution was developed convert the reliability

calculations (Calculated life time) to web based tool where the user

enters the relevant data and receives the results and graphs. To establish

permissions so that contractors have only input/output access to the tool.

Solution: A dashboard solution was developed without the use of xml's, Asp

scripts were used in such a way that xml's were generated inside the

script itself which reduced weekly support for the pre-existing dash

boarding solution.

based query to Crystal Reports and provide user-friendly screens to view &

to do the real time replication of reporting data from NCS system into a

data repository. By separating the transactional and reporting data,

system performance and response time should be improved. All the reports
