Resume:

Prior to being self-employed I was employed by Illinois Crane, Inc. as the Technical and Safety Manager. My responsibilities were diverse – new hire training; technician training in inspections, crane electrics, crane mechanical; NFPA70E; personal fall arrest; aerial platforms; articulating boom lifts and fork truck certification. I was also contracted out to their customer base for technical services and contract training. I trained at Alcoa; John Deere; Valero; Nucor; GM; Wisconsin Oven; Caterpillar (all sites) and Phoenix Closures.

I was employed from July 2011 through October 8, 2014. The reason for leaving was that the position was eliminated for economic adjustments as Caterpillar downsized our commitment with them for onsite services.

While at Illinois Crane, Inc. I attained “Train the Trainer” certification from CMCO for Hoist Technician; Power Electronics VFD; Genie Lift; Cat Truck; PFAs; and NFPA70E Arc Flash and Electrical Safety.

Prior to Illinois Crane, Inc. I was employed as a Technical Instructor at the Kone Crane Inc. Institute in New Berlin, WI. Taught crane controls, VFD’s, DC magnetic, AC magnetic, and static stepless. When needed also instructed OHC Inspections, OHC Mechanical, and Rigging/Advanced Rigging, and developed classes in Telemotive Radio and Digital DC controls.

I also did training at customer locations all over North America. For example, I was contracted to teach in Canada’s Tar Sands and other remote locations. Annually I went to Tek Metals in Trail, British Columbia, for four to six weeks training their millwrights and electricians on crane controls; electrical maintenance; mechanical maintenance and assisted in sales of modernizations and new products. Also went to Alta Steel, Edmonton, Canada, annually for two weeks of inspection and Magnetek control classes.

Before that P & H/Kone Crane, Inc Institute – I was the lead inspector for P & H out of the Waukesha Service Branch. I provided inspection services, and service sales to many customers in the Mid-West; including Case, Caterpillar and General Motors Stamping.

While employed as an inspector-service technician I attended many factory sponsored training classes; Magnetek VFDs, Telemotive Radios, Drivecon VFDs; Acculine Laser Alignment; P & H sponsored classes; crane controls; crane mechanical; crane inspection; static stepless; and a factory class at Sheppard-Niles.

I joined the Institute as a trainer because I felt training good service technicians was very important to service, sales and customer satisfaction.

Employed from September, 2000 through June 2011. Accepted position with Illinois Crane, Inc. to avoid extended periods of international travel.

Before P & H/Kone Crane Inc. I was employed at Overhead Material Handling in Oak Creek as a service tech and crane installer. OMH was a great place to work but didn’t pay well so I went to P & H after three years of employment.

I worked as a Union millwright prior to OMH and did some interesting projects, installation of robotics; fabrication and repairs at various contracted locations such as Huffy Sports; Smuckers, Cargill and many companies in the Mid-west. During this period I sold our services to clients and did estimating.

Specific Millwright Skills:

Blue print reading; Welding mig, tig, and stick cut using oxy-acetylene and plasma

Operate engine lathe; mill, surface grinders, and proficient in the use of fabrication machines such as press brakes, shears, saws and burn tables.

Rig for overhead crane installs and do the electrical connection and commissioning plus troubleshoot problems.

Education:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida

Milwaukee Area Technical College for classes in controls and automation, as well as classes in programmable logic controls and VFD technology.

“Train the Trainer” certification from CMCO for Hoist Technician; Power Electronics VFD; Genie Lift; Cat Truck; PFAs; and NFPA70E Arc Flash and Electrical Safety.

Many factory sponsored training classes; Magnetek VFDs, Telemotive Radios, Drivecon VFDs; Acculine laser Alignment; P & H sponsored classes; crane controls; crane mechanical; crane inspection; static stepless; and a factory class at Sheppard-Niles.

I have had certification in Personal Fall Arrest System Competent person, NFPA 70E Certified Trainer, am OSHA 10 Certified, and have attended other career advancing training classes like Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Dale Carnegie Management classes.

I am available for an interview at any time.
