JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary: Responsible for providing excellent nursing care to specific number of client and their families within an assigned unit. Makes appropriate decision in his/her level. Supervising and mentoring of Junior staff. May refer to Unit Head Nurse/ Supervisor if necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES in general:
1.To ensure that nursing care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in accordance with the policy taking appropriate action in emergency situation within shift.
2.Prepares patient for diagnostic procedures, treatment and therapeutic regimen within shift.
3.Carries out doctor's orders accurately and timely within shift.
4.Maintaining timely and accurate nursing records and ensuring that confidentiality is respected.
5.Implement accurate charting and administration of medicines and endorses accurately medicines to the next shift.
6.Maintain good interpersonal working relationships with co-workers.
7.Maintaining personal contact with patients, relatives and carers, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
8.Maintaining a safe and clean environment within the clinical area in accordance with the Infection Control Policy.
9.Endorses patient's status properly to the incoming nurse.
10.Communicating with and assisting the multidisciplinary team (physician during rounds/examining patients, dietitian, etc.) excellence in the delivery of patient care.
11.To ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity.
