Responsibilities:

Provide support for HR applications; Researching and resolving HR systems problems, unexpected results or process flaws; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

Define robust business requirements and test scripts for PeopleSoft enhancements/patches/maintenance packs. Function as part of the Human Resources Business Processes & Operations (HRBPO) team that serves as the primary PeopleSoft functional support for process, transaction, and systems inquiries.

Partner with Information Systems and Human Resources colleagues to understand business needs then develop requirements and recommend solutions; Collaborate to develop, test and implement solutions according to defined project time line.

Identify and recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions or alternate methodologies, and/or policy changes based on interviews, data analysis and focus group forums.

Key Accomplishments:

Identified need for less manual tracking of Mercer’s International Position Evaluation (IPE) Score. Defined business requirements, test cases and implementation of customization for IPE tracking within PeopleSoft Position Management and Data Warehouse for reporting purposes.

Conducted data analysis and developed a strategic business case for budget approval then the RFP documents for outsourcing Unemployment Claims Management; Designed project plan for implementation and lead project team to successfully implement solution on-time and within budget.

Conducted interviews with users of PeopleSoft HR to document current processes in order to write detailed test scripts for the technical upgrade from 8.9 to 9.2. Collected data necessary for data analysis needed for upcoming functional upgrade.

SME for ePerformance PeopleSoft module during upgrade; tested and documented all system changes for user training. Major HRIS conversion from PeopleSoft 8.0 to 9.1; Created robust test scripts and ensured passing results for user acceptance testing, reported any defects in ALM and retested upon fix.

Full-cycle payroll processing for active and retired personnel (union and non-union) throughout United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and globally for expats; approximately 100K people; approximately 350 pay runs per year.

Executed daily inbound and outbound interfaces to and from various vendors. Validated and balanced each file appropriately. Troubleshot and resolved any issues.

Analyzed and balanced each pay prior to confirm; ran queries and reports to validate the pay; reported any discrepancies to be fixed; finalized pay, generated reports, tax filing submission, checks/advices and ACH all in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery of pay.

Worked diligently to test/fix any system problems as necessary; Conducted complete testing of tax upgrades, bundles and maintenance packs prior to implementation; Worked with other HR organizations and support team; Opened tickets and facilitated incident calls when necessary.

Reduced annual printing and mailing costs by $215K by eliminating generation of update-to-earnings $0.00 checks, eliminating paper advices and fixing system to stop generating $0.01 checks

Integrated system testing for employee number rendition project. Identified all interfaces related to payroll and benefits that had set character limit for employee number and worked to modify and test all impacted interfaces that needed to expand for growing employee number limits.

Identified previous enhancement issue that was creating the generation of $0.01 checks that were being printed and mailed then ultimately left uncashed on the accounts. Wrote enhancement requirements and worked to get implemented. In the interim, created a query to identify these checks after each pay in order to prevent the distribution and gave them to banking to handle.
