Special Achievements:
• Earned a Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) with Kum-Laud honors; and also earned a Masters
of Social Work (MSW) degree and obtained a State License as a Licenced Master of Social Work
(LMSW).
• Wrote 2 grants to help raise funds for The University of Oklahoma’s Tulsa Physician’s
Community Clinics.
• Introduced a program that increased employee retention by over 60 percent, stabilizing the
work force, resulting in an increase of 25 percent in production.
• Designed spreadsheets to track attendance & productivity, which was utilized by the entire
management team to track individual performance, resulting in an increase of quality productivity
by over 35 percent.
• Introduced a training program for learning disabled individuals, and worked with local
authorities to implement a vocational program to train and employ people released from prison, as
well as those who graduate from substance abuse, rehabilitation facilities.
Volunteer Service: For many years, I served as a volunteer worker for churches and other
community services, which included heading up hospital & nursing home visitation. In addition,
duties included working on fund raising projects, providing teaching and counseling for children,
teenagers, and parents. We also provided counseling for single adults, couples, and elderly
adults, as well as ministering to people in hospice and their families. Years before, I opened and
operated a non-profit coffee house out-reach and street ministry that operated for 3 years in
downtown Tulsa, where we offered help for children and their parent’s physical, emotional, and
spiritual needs.
In order to fulfill practicum’s for the BSW degree; I volunteered at a hospice, but later changed
over to work at a food-bank operated by the Community Action Program or (CAP). For two
semesters I helped with intake evaluations, counseling, and helped to coordinate the volunteer
intake counselors. For my senior practicum, I completed 480 hours of volunteer work 12 & 12 Inc.
Center for Addiction Treatment & Recovery, doing case work, working with alcoholics, narcotic
addicts, and people having comorbid mental challenges. Plus, on weekends I worked with the
family counselor, helping with family members and extended family, which included adolescents,
children and close friends of the clients. Volunteer work has always included helping people to
find employment, housing, spiritual resources, and resources for medical care.
For the Graduate Practicum, I worked under the Director of Operations at The University of
Oklahoma’s Physicians Tulsa Community Health Clinics, doing administration work, which
included, doing clinical work, helping patients network to gain assistance for varying needs. Plus, I
organized employee / peer evaluations; generated trend and demographic reports for stake
holders and funders and in addition I wrote grants to help raise additional funding.
