Emblem Health; Emblem health is under contract for installation, customization, and development of the Med Insight system. Emblem Health has a mechanism to report on medical expense targets, which is going to have shared risk arrangements starting in 2016. Direct Enrollment: The Direct enrollment introduces due to new Obama Care Health reform. New application was built for the customers, who want to enroll in to new Obama Care through BCBS. Direct enrollment was connected to FFM (Federal Facilitated Market Place) where consumers can enroll in to BCBS plans through Obama care. Consumers will get their eligibility determination through FFM and will navigate to BCBS environment to choose BCBS health plans.

2014 Health Care Reform: The 2014 Health Care Reforms was to make changes to IBU business processes to accommodate new Healthcare Reform changes to Enrollment, Underwriting (Quoting, Rating), Products, Plan Advisor and Workflows due to the new reforms the 2013 products would no longer be PPACA compliant. The Jet Issue capability was introduced to cut the processing time of new business consumer applications. It was designed to achieve a key goal: speed of application processing to enrollment. To achieve this, new functions and business logic was introduced into the application capture process to properly flag improper user inputs, perform cross edits of the data.

Individual to Individual: This project was to provide a pre-populated enrollment form for a member to go in and select an IBU product without having to enter information already stored within Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan membership system.

Dental Integration: This project was to integrate Dental products into Medical flow as new Health Care Reform require individual to have Dental plan along with the Medical plan. It also introduces the capability of shopping tool which is Quote tool for combined medical and dental product. This tool help estimates the monthly payments and store information of the given Quote which helps individual to apply for the quoted plan in future.

837: HIPAA mandating adoption of the 5010 version of the ANSI ASC X12 standards for EDI 837 transactions pertaining to HIPAA-covered events. NASCO MO was supporting the 4010A1 version till the implementation. This project was to include supporting both 4010A1 and 5010 versions and eventually rolling over to the 5010 version as a long-term solution. Through the implementation of this project, NASCO MO will maintain HIPAA compliance and continue to support industry standards. NASCO MO is responding to the HIPAA mandate as a regulatory requirement. As part of this program, we laid the ground work for the ICD-10 program, which was deployed in 2013.
