IMPACT ON SOLID WASTE DUMP ON SOIL AND WATER QUALITY IN CHENNAI CITY Description: The report discuss on the assessment of soil and water quality in and around Municipal Solid Waste(MSW) dumping site, it is found that some of parameters like PH, Electrical conductivity, Moisture content, Organic matters, Calcium and Magnesium concentration limits are compared with Indian Standard limits. The higher concentration will impact soil and water quality. The optimized use of MSW can improve soil quality without creating ecological hazards. The emphasis should be given to improve the waste management practices and construct properly engineered landfill sites to curtail the water pollution.

DESIGN OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING

Description: The report discuss on the design of an elementary school building. The plan, detailing of beam, column and reinforcement are drawn in AUTOCAD. The design and analysis are made manually by using IS 456:2000 and SP16. The design of all structural members will be carried out by limit state method. Concrete grade of M20 and HYSD bars of Fe415 steel are used.
