Project Description:

The current “One Source” project aims to solve the inconsistencies of actuals financial data reported from multiple data sources by different groups throughout the organization. The current state has financial data reported from multiple sources including the F1 planning tool (BPC version 7.5 on Microsoft SQL Server), SAP EC-CS (current consolidation tool), and SAP BW (data warehouse fed from SAP R3). The actuals can vary between these systems for a number of reasons including: changing of actuals in F1, timing of entering top-side adjustments back into SAP and pre- vs. post-allocations data from BW.

Once SAP Business Objects Planning & Consolidations (BPC) is implemented, business users can pull their consolidated financial information from one source – BPC. BPC will also support a number of efficiency improvements during the consolidation and reporting processes. Many manual processes to collect and consolidate data for US GAAP and IFRS reporting will be moved into BPC which will free up resource time to work on more value-add processes
