June 2016 - Dec 2016: 72 hrs per wk. DoD Fire Services Deputy Chief and Fire Prevention Chief for an active fire and emergency services function at Bagram AB, Afghanistan for department of professional firefighters/Emergency Medical Technicians. Provide emergency and non-emergency response capabilities to the largest DoD air operation in SW Asia with over 48 different specialized air-frames to included: crash fire response, emergency medical response, public fire safety education, community outreach, fire extinguisher re-servicing and exchange programs, and facility inspections to an varied collection of occupancies at a forward operations base in support of the Pentagon’s Operation Freedom Sentinel in the United States Global War on Terrorism.
May 2015 - June 2016: 60 hrs. per wk. DoD contract firefighting as Deputy Fire Chief and Fire Prevention Chief, and Chief of Training at NATO KFOR operating base location in the Republic of Kosovo (Camp Bondsteel). Regularly perform all Fire Chief obligations in absence of incumbent. Provide all facets of fire protection support and first and secondary Emergency Medical Response (EMR) coverage to Multinational Brigade East personnel at 2500 capacity man-camp. Deputy Chief: managed application of departmental policy and directives relating to delivery of fire protection serviced base on contractual guidelines. Consulted and coordinated camp leadership on fire and medical response capabilities issues, base exercise development and special event requirement, and security and morale inspections. Nov 2013 – May 2015: 40 hrs. per wk. US Pentagon Fire Inspector for Office of the Pentagon Fire Marshal (OPFM):
Provided fire and life safety code enforcement and compliance through detailed tenant space and building systems inspections, regulation verification, investigations, data collection, targeted public education initiatives, special event programs and community safety awareness fairs. Provided these and other specialized training to an on-site population of over 30,000 US and foreign military, federal, contracted employers and vendors at an office complex at over 6 million square feet. Duties included fire, electrical, and life safety code administration and enforcement; conducted fire drill and monitored fire evacuation exercises at over 21 off-campus sites in 15 facilities located throughout the Washington/ Virginia National - Capital Region on a daily basis. Average of 830 inspections and other tenant related contacts per quarter.
May 2007 to Nov 2013: 88 - 72 hrs. per wk. DoD contract firefighting as Deputy Fire Chief and Assistant Chief of Operations at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. Performed Fire Chief duties in absence of incumbent. Directed aerospace firefighting coverage to include numerous NATO fix-wing aircraft. Chief of Prevention: Administered fire prevention, fire inspections actions, community fire safety and educational plan to included aircraft hangars, bulk fuel storage yards, public assemblies, vehicle maintenance facilities, retail occupancies, dormitories and single occupant living quarters. Chief of Training: Managed divisional certification programs.
