To Whom It May Concern:

The opportunity to write a letter of reference for Ms. Brenda George is a pleasurable task for me. I worked with

Brenda while I was an elementary principal in the Penns Valley Area School District and our professional relationship

has continued beyond those years. She has kept me posted as to her educational pursuits and her successes and

challenges in new positions with increased leadership roles. I believe that she has continued to grow in many ways

both professionally and personally, which will make her a wonderful Principal or Special Education Supervisor in any

school district or organization.

I have to admit that Brenda is one of the best special education teachers that I have ever worked with as a principal.

Brenda established positive working relationships with the administration, elementary teachers, and support staff, and

she became an integral part of the school staff in the Penns Valley Elementary School. She has developed into a

strong teacher leader. She served on the Professional Development Committee and many other committees supporting

the change process in the school district. Brenda was a key teacher leader in helping to create a new Student Services

process in the school district and in presenting it to and networking with the staff and community on this huge project.

Brenda has gone beyond the classroom in other ways too. She spent a great deal of her personal time connecting with

the parents of special needs parents either in their homes or late in the day to meet the parents schedules.

Brenda has many skills that are essential as a school leader. One of the skills at which she excels is setting

appropriate personal and professional goals and she strives to meet or exceed those goals. She is able to evaluate,

identify, and solve problems regarding students and staff and to work with outside agencies to solve problems in the

best interest of the child. Brenda has the ability to develop leadership in others by helping them to learn new skills,

supporting their growth and development, encouraging independence, and recognizing individual successes. She has

the ability to function as a strong team player. In addition, her communication skills are superb. Brenda is

knowledgeable about curriculum, identifying curricular needs, developing a plan to provide appropriate curriculum to

meet the needs of diverse learners and is willing to learn about and apply new ideas based upon current educational

research and pedagogy. Brenda is also very knowledgeable about Special Education law and methodology.

When you meet Brenda, you will see a highly energetic and enthusiastic educator with strong interpersonal skills.

You will also discover that she values professional relationships based upon truth and honesty. I have found her to be

an outstanding, well-rounded teacher and leader with strengths in a multitude of areas including curriculum and

assessment development, leadership skills, teamwork, and doing whatever it takes to make her students and teachers

successful in the classroom and the school community.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding Brenda George and her professional experiences in

the Penns Valley Area Schools. acym1d@r.postjobfree.com

Sincerely,

Marsha L. Sackash,

Howard Elementary Principal/

Director of Elementary Education
