Warehouse Manager

Brought into a growing company with responsibility for Warehouse which includes 3 direct reports and 40 hourly associates.

Managing the picking, staging and loading of all customer orders.

Maintain product flow by managing the movement of finished goods from production floor to warehousing to ensure completed customer orders.

Oversee scheduling of shipments, raw materials and supplies to and from internal and external customers and 3PL’s.

Organize finished goods in the warehouse to most effectively utilize space.

Scheduled timely cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy resulting in gold star customer service.

Maintain upkeep and cost center of all lift truck equipment at both production and warehousing areas.

Prepare work schedules, delegate assignments, and ensure continuous alignment with daily production goals. Train staff on equipment and procedures as required.

Assumed position at a time when no formal training programs were in place. I set-up formal training sessions, consistent scheduling, employee absentee program to ensured uniformity/consistency of operation at all levels.

Maintained high visibility throughout the plant and promoted an upbeat, friendly work environment that discouraged absenteeism, and recognized staff loyalty which was lacking among non-exempt employees upon my arrival.

Bay Valley Foods, (Previously Del Monte Foods/H.J. Heinz Co.) (1995 – 2010)

Warehouse/Labeling Department Manager

Directly hired, trained and developed 5 Supervisors while managing 140-150 receiving, order picking, packaging, and shipping staff members by communicating job expectations and planning while monitoring and appraising job performance. Provided operational oversight and inventory control within a 250K square foot warehouse facility that serviced a variety of food manufacturing accounts with private label products for over 2,800 SKU’s. Applied company policies and procedures for optimal warehouse and distribution operations that included receiving, packing, and shipping of 14M cases of private label soups per year. Administered a $2M operational budget and communicated frequently with Senior Warehouse Management on business requirements and budgetary compliance. Made recommendations for improvements to labor cost, maintenance, and overtime expenses.

Promoted to Warehouse Manager based on exemplary on-the-job contributions as a Warehouse Supervisor.

Served on a team that was responsible for implementation and employee training of an entirely automated Warehouse Management System (WMS – RF) that greatly enhanced operations across the entire facility.
