Served as an advanced Sonar Operator for a total of six successful deployments. During attachment with command responsibilities included but were not limited to:
§ Operation, troubleshooting, repair, and performance of maintenance on submarine sonar oceanographic and
auxiliary sonar equipment.
§ Coordinating use of submarine sonar and underwater weapons control system which required an extensive knowledge of oceanographic aspects such as wave
propagation in a fluid medium, with variables of
temperature and pressure.
§ Operational tests and making external adjustments on electronic and hydraulic equipment with use of schematics and wiring/circuitry diagrams.
§ Maintaining ship’s compartments, decks, deck machinery and equipment, external structures.
§ Performing standing deck watches such as pier sentry, fire security and other special watches in-port.
Damage Control Petty Officer
USS Tennessee // November 2013 – March 2016
§ Conducted maintenance and inspections of various damage control equipment which was vital to ensuring ships safety in the event of damage control casualties.
§ Accumulated an extensive knowledge of damage control procedures and utilization of casualty equipment such as fire extinguishers, submersible pump, red devil blower, self-contained breathing apparatus, Portable AFFF
Injection system and etc.
