PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Operated Dynamic Positioning Systems (DP) and participated in FMEA trials. Carried out heavy lift
operations and monitored risk assessments, lift plans and associated documentation prior to lift
operations with jack-up barge. Developed the potential of deck officers and port inspectors through
training and mentoring thus ensuring organisational standards are not only met but exceeded. Designed
and performed stability and ballast calculations for safe vessel operations. Planned and executed cargo
hold cleaning and inspections prior to cargo loading.
Confirmed in daily dock call that approved barges and towing vessels actually performed the move that
was requested and that no barges or towing vessels were substituted without being vetted and approved.
Coordinated vessel inspections with third party marine inspectors and ensure that barges and vessels are
approved and included in ARAMCO database.
Planned and successfully delivered desired outcomes for dry-dock and mobilisation of vessels in and out
of operation in Singapore and Australia. Conducted sea trials; including crash stop, turning circles, speed
calculation and bollard pull for new build tugs in Singapore and Indonesia. Designed and executed
internal audits for ISM & ISPS & MLC. Investigated marine incidents within port waters for owned and
contracted vessels. Coordinated Marine Oil Spill response drills in port waters. Maintained high work,
health, safety and standards at all times according to Government & Industry legislation.
Effectively completed risk assessments, behavioural based safety observations, and job safety
environmental analysis in line with statutory legislation. Proactively held and attended tool box meetings
and contribute to organisational schedules, targets and safety. Retained the Permit to Work register
ensuring accuracy of completed documentation. Upheld safe operations with offshore installations to
ensure timely logistics delivery.
Ensured repair works are carried out in accordance with engineering plans. Analysed and did cyclone
avoidance procedures. Enforced port rules and regulations to ensure vessels are in compliance. Issued
marine safety approvals for critical operations in port waters. Liaised with regulatory authorities
(AMSA, USCG) and statutory bodies (Classification Societies) in order to find optimal outcome for
statutory issues.
