Chief Officer, Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services Current
Tasked to reorganize the largest department in the district having an annual budget of $1B within the
3rd largest school district in the country consisting of a $5.5 Billion dollar annual budget with a focus
on increased student achievement and bringing stability in resource allocation/expenditures.
Cost analysis and bending the curve on historic year over year overspend
Developed a structure to recruit and hire skilled administrators to support schools in implementing
guidelines that bring equity in resource allocation with over 52,000 students with disabilities across
the district s schools.
Updated data dashboard for detailed management reports to assist drive positive administrative
efforts.
Established and implemented training for school principals to achieve new guideline standards
supporting equity for students with disabilities across the district.
Strengthened collaborative relationships with city agencies, community organizations and
community advocates.

Deputy Chief of Networks, Office of Network Supports (ONS) 2014 2016
The Chicago Public School system currently serves 400,000 students across 660 schools. It is the job of the
Office of Network Supports (ONS) to act as advocates for children and schools in Central Office
initiatives, policy, and procedure decisions. The ONS partners with Central Office departments on major
initiatives that directly impact schools.
Set and monitor expectations for all schools and the Chiefs and Staff of the13 geographic networks
(regional areas/districts) with scheduled evaluations for performance and accountability.
High Quality Differentiated professional development program to build expertise across K-12
instruction and Bi-Lingual education.
July 2015 selected to act as chief negotiator representing the Board of Education with the Chicago
Teacher s Union and served as 1 of 3 members of the CEO created working group to establish and
recommend significant district changes.
Created safe and reflective practices for administrative staff through opportune coaching sessions.
Collaborate with Chicago Public Education FUND/CEO on administrative vacancies, interviews,
forecasting and leadership efficacy.

At the CEO s request I was responsible for opening and providing on-going support to two
reconstituted elementary schools, and supporting two other high-need schools.

SELECTED DISTRICT LEVEL G RANTS
CPS Social Science Initiative (2008) The social science initiative aims to develop a three year implementation
plan to develop curricular and instructional coherence as well as collaboration between schools, teachers, and
partners throughout Chicago. The Chicago Community Trust, J.P. Morgan Trust, and the Chicago Mercantile
Exchange Trust awarded $250,000 for the first year of this initiative.
The Chicago Data Initiative (2007) The objective of this project is to enable teams of teachers in schools
across CPS to use data and formative assessments to improve instruction and increase student achievement.
The Chicago Public Education FUND awarded $420,000 over two years for this initiative.

In October 2008, the Chicago Board of Education approved the opening of a new elementary school, South
Shore Fine Arts Academy, a replication of the model developed and implemented at South Loop Elementary
School during my tenure as principal.
The editorial board of the Chicago Tribune recognized South Loop Elementary School for its data practices in
its five-part series From Here to Excellence 2007.
Participant and presenter in Senior Staff Retreats and engaged with other leaders about school and district
change and development (2005 2007).
