Duties/Responsibilities

Identify and report potential hazards and risks to the health or safety of the employees

Carry out regular inspections of the work site and ensure that all unsafe acts/ or conditions are logged during inspections are corrected immediately

Issue pink slips for safety violations

Ensure that the HSE requirements and procedures are effectively implemented and conduct inspections of work being performed

The incumbent needs to be present at the work site at all times when work is in progress

Ensure operating equipment, tools, and facilities used are inspected and maintained as required by applicable HSE regulations

Oversee and advise Supervisors during Toolbox Talks, DTI's and Risk Assessments.

Promote a culture in which safety is the prime concern and will never be compromised.

Implement and maintain the Company's HSE Systems.

Ensure adherence to all HSE legislation, company and client procedures.

Advice the site management team on HSE issues and suggested solutions.

Ensure safety management information notice boards are in a place in each area and all relevant information is displayed

Attends safety meetings and liaise with the clients HSE Dept and the Department of Labour Inspectors if necessary.

Report all incidents immediately to the client HSE department as per Project requirements.
