JOB TITLE & DUTIES:
The CPAS group is testing parachute systems for our next space launch vehicle or capsule. The
group administers 1 to 2 parachute drop test in Yuma AZ each month. Each drop test is designed
to deliver NASA drop test documentation and test data to provide a functional parachute system
for future assent/entry space vehicles at NASA.
The drop test video system was designed using ProE models in Lightwave 3D. The 3D renderings
and animation provided a foundation to research a low-cost off the shelf video system. A 3D
Animation & video lab was built to support the post drop test videos edits and 3D animation
PreVisual renderings.
