labs) for the APSP.
Directed personnel administration of 28 administrative/professional and civil service staff positions by
writing and updating position descriptions, recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating staff
Collaborated with the OGRD Resource Group to develop the Faculty Development Series (FDS) a
comprehensive faculty program providing training in grant proposal writing. The FDS earned over $110,000
in additional funding from the Office of Research and created two new staff positions in Fiscal Year 2005.
Oversaw personnel, travel, purchasing, and administrative policies and procedures for OGRD and RCO.
Summer 2006 - Co-Investigator providing administrative management of a $2.2MM project through the
Idaho National Laboratory: processing 150-200 summer interns through WSU s temporary employment
policies and procedures (includes wages and housing costs). Interns work at the INL in Idaho Falls, ID.
Semi-annually produced six Strategic Plan Update reports for the Director as part of compiled Research Area
reports to WSU s Provost
Administrative Coordinator 2001 2004
Advanced to develop and coordinate all aspects of training and education events sponsored by OGRD, including:
OGRD New Faculty Orientation, grant proposal workshops with invited proposal experts, video workshops and online
education programs hosted by the National Council of University Research Administrators, and the OGRD Seminar
Series (particularly curriculum development and selection of faculty presenters). Provided daily supervision to and
business training of three positions providing purchasing, travel and clerical support to the Office of Grant and
Research Development. Additionally, conducted and administered professional search committee processes. Managed
annual administrative accounts of roughly $164,000, served as primary purchasing agent and created and/or facilitated
seminars for faculty and staff.
Successfully coordinated numerous grant-writing workshops with more than 350 attendees that outlined the
grant writing process and assisted faculty and staff in securing additional resources
Wrote, edited and published The Informer Online in Macromedia Dreamweaver, a monthly newsletter for
University employees that highlighted funding opportunities from federal and non-federal sponsors, research
news, and training opportunities available to faculty
