Responsibilities:

• Assists (the City Principal Engineers in the Design, City Water, and Traffic, Departments) in designs by performing Auto-Cad drafting methods and preparing plans for Citywide public works improvement projects such as street paving, curbs and gutters, sewers, storm drains, and water lines. Draws contour and topographic maps as well as updating city maps, plans, and underground utilities.

• Under the Principal Engineer's instruction, performs a range of professional engineering work such as field land surveying and establishes line and grade and other related surveying activities and compiling data; prepares plans, details, estimates, reports and specifications for a wide variety of civil engineering projects; and does related work as required.

• Under the Principal Engineer, Construction and Inspections department, uses Pavement Management System software to input city-wide road network by performing two years filed survey of deterioration data and provide 100% accurate prioritization output data to qualify Federal, State and County matching funds for financing reconstruction and re-paving master plan. Provides technical assistance and engineering information to contractors, developers, engineers, and members of the public.
