Objective

Obtain a challenging Process Technician position that will use my skills to add value to the company, and allow for career advancement. I have 37 years semiconductor related manufacturing and engineering experience. Well versed in SPC and basic computer skills using Microsoft Office applications. Experience in Diffusion, Thin Films, Implant and Electrical test.

Experience

Micrel Inc / Microchip Technology Inc 02/16 – present

As a Process Engineering Technician, I sustained and operated Electroglass testers at E-Test and Final test with Reedholm system. Trained operators proper aligning procedure to prevent tests failures. With parameters failing and eating up tester time, I look for test errors. Edited those tests, and result with tester utilization improved by 20%. Monitor/collect result of tests, and worked with Device Engineer to debug/troubleshoot test failures. Verify test results using Curve Tracer. Also able to repair minor problems with probe cards.

Microchip Technology Inc 07/14 – 07/15

Microchip Inc acquired Supertex Inc. Continued to support Diffusion and Thin Film process. Inspect products and processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement. Prepare, conduct tests and collect data on experiments using Microsoft Office programs. Operate, maintain and calibrate Metrology equipments.

Supertex Inc 02/99 – 07/14

Supertex Inc. acquired Orbit Semiconductor 6” wafer fab. Continued to support 6in Fab and in addition was a key player in Process transfer from 4in to 6in. With uniformity the biggest issue, created matrix test with different gas flows and deposit time to achieve correct uniformity. Continue to sustain Diffusion and Thin film processes, by spec writing, inspection, dispositioning and problem solving. Improve Fab line wafer yield by running and evaluating DOEs with the Process Eng team.

Orbit Semiconductor 06/95 – 02/99

As an Engineering Technician, I performed experiments and assist on developing new products. Qualify new equipment for production release. Assist Equipment Engineers in troubleshooting equipment when process problems occur. Monitor SPC to insure process is in target. Update and create new specs for new process and equipments. Disposition production lots in the Thin Film/Diffusion/ET, certify operators in training, and correct/modify spec discrepancies.

Inter. Microelectronic Product 10/82 – 06/95

•As a process Technician, I worked on Engineering experiments or assigned projects. Performed calculations and adjustments on gases and temperatures to achieve correct thickness and Rs. Gathered data and graphs to analyze them. Helped Engineers in solving process and equipment problems during aborts or problems that occur. Disposition materials with discrepancies to send on or to rework. Write new and modify existing specs.

•As a Lead Trainer/Sr. Fab Operator, my responsibilities included cross training and training new operators. Responsible for most paperwork, ensuring schedules are met and assisting supervisors with coordination work function with limited personnel, if necessary. Certified to set up Ion Implanters, Varian Sputter Systems, Novellus PECVD, Bruce 7351 & 7351c and Thermo 6000 vertical furnace. Perform CV plotting to qualify equipment and furnaces. Performed calibrations on tools used for oxide and Rs measurements.

Synertek Inc. 08/81 – 10/82

As a wafer fab Operator, I ran all diffusion furnaces and Thin Films such as Sputter systems, Pyroxes and AMS Machines. I am able to setup and operate Varian DF4 Implanters.

Stanford Applied Engineering 07/79 – 06/81

As a QA/QC Lead Inspector, I inspected printed circuit boards for qualifications. Able to read blue prints, use caliper and micrometer to assure the board meets the customer requirements. Performed “first articles” (test boards) for drillings, plating, fabrication, and photo department to ensure there no errors before remaining are processed.
