Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply for the position of Freelance English Transcriber. I have a General
Arts Masters from the University of Edinburgh with honors in English Literature and
History of Art, am a keen and fastidious writer of both marketing materials (I have been
in film marketing for close to ten years) and an aspiring screenwriter. I was drawn to the
job advert not only because I am a very fast, and accurate typer (Ratatype verified score
of 74 WPM with 99% accuracy), but also because of my love of film.
I believe I can bring a knowledge of film industry processes to the role as well as
fulfilling the transcription functions with excellence. My position at Entertainment One
involved balancing not only multiple projects with varying time frames. As a writer, I use
Grammarly Premium to check all my work (including this), not just for grammar and
spelling but also writing context. I would look forward to learning the cloud-based
proprietary software.
Across all my positions I have worked with multiple stakeholders - from team assistants
to studio execs, and understand the importance of concise communication. I have edited
copy for all marketing communications including many press releases.
Thank you for taking to read this cover letter, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Dennis
