SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER: CONSULTANT with Experis IT Manpower Group

Directed preparation work with nine different development groups for the Military Lending Act Project scheduled for implementation in October, 2016. This Act was for active duty and reservists and offered a not-to-exceed interest rate on most Key Bank products. One aspect of this project was to monitor the active duty status of Key customers and when they were no longer active duty, the product terms reverted to business as usual terms. The Department of Defense has a data base of active duty members but did not have the technology to handle many banks querying the data base. The Credit Bureaus were selected to house the DOD database. Equifax was the first and would receive updates on a daily basis from the DOD.

Directed a multimillion dollar package implementation of Autonomy’s Legal Hold for NYCB’s Legal Department. This project required 12 new servers, an 87 TB SAN and a 9 TB Preservation Area.

Led the development of a Virtual Banking process that permits a customer to be able access his/her accounts located on one of two banking systems regardless of location.

Senior Project Manager: Led the Mainframe Decommissioning process for University Hospitals. Found replacement systems for eight mainframe systems and ensured historical data was archived and secured properly for any future access need. Also led the implementation of a product that was added to patient registration. While the patient was completing the registration process the payers were verified as well as the patient’s address and SSN. The registrar received this verification data back to the computer screen in just seconds.

Senior Project Manager: Led the onshore and offshore development (75 team members) of a new Data Warehouse that housed the combined data of 65 unique systems for National City Bank. Provided consulting to the IT Department of Agrana Fruits US Inc., which supported various corporate departments and four plants.

Allowed National City Bank (purchased by PNC Bank) to understand their entire organization’s credit risk and revenue potential for the first time after developing a new Data Warehouse solution.

Successfully replaced Agrana Fruits US Inc.’s legacy IT Department hardware ($1.4 million plan) with three new servers using VMWare and connected to a Storage Array Network (SAN), allowing for Disaster Recovery and fast response times.

Chief Information Officer - Approved by selective Tatum Partners to be a Chief Information Officer partner after extensive background scrutiny. Responsibilities center on managing information technology work while ensuring IT strategies and processes support business plans for clients.

Interim Chief Information Officer, Rent-Way, Inc., Erie, Pennsylvania – Scope of duties for this Retail firm consisted of implementing a new computer system that would support the company and facilitate its strategic growth plans. Responsible for setting up and staffing a new PMO organization and Quality Assurance organization charged with ensuring quality of all developed and package software prior to production release. Reorganized IT developers and help desk staff to better serve customers. Formulated a CIO candidate screening process for HR, helped interview prospective full-time CIO candidates, and coached newly hired CIO during first month.

Wrote a 37-page IT assessment in 6 weeks that examined existing support for 753 stores in 33 states as well as corporate IT support. Subsequently, awarded a long-term contract by CEO to correct problems and enable corporate growth from $500 million and 753 stores to $1 billion and 2,000 stores.

Analyzed hardware alternatives from Sun, HP, Microsoft, and IBM. Selected IBM’s twin I-Series proposal where one would be located at corporate and one hundreds of miles away and Mimixed together that would cost $1.5 million less each year than the existing poorly performing computer system. As a result of this decision, instantaneous disaster recovery was achieved for the first time at Rent-Way. Justified this

recommendation to the CEO and CFO and obtained their buy-in for this major undertaking that would help

the business grow.

Examined package data warehouse alternatives and selected a Hyperion data warehouse that securely maintained data from more than 2,000 stores as well as PeopleSoft HR & financial data supporting corporate users.

Replaced 25 inefficient Internet service providers (ISP) with a single satellite system backed up by a landline that worked faster than the ISPs if weather inactivated satellite access at a cost just under ISP cost.

Conceived and planned for wireless store thin client appliances that eliminated expensive store wiring while extending store PC replacement cycle from 3 years to 10+ years. Consequently, generated a savings of $6.6 million over 10 years.

Created and chaired an Executive IT Steering Committee that enabled the company’s executives to understand for the first time the need and impact of selected and prioritized work.

Successfully obtained executive and board buy-in for recommended major computer hardware, communications and software systems upgrade, which proved instrumental in providing numerous tangible and intangible benefits plus a 37% ROI over 5 years.

Established a new project management office that ensured the successful completion of projects on time and within budget on a consistent basis.

Oversaw conversion of a slow-operating Visual Basic-based in-store POS system to a Web-based system housed at corporate and accessed via satellite by all the stores. Engagement Manager/Senior Project Manager/Site Manager – Primary duties focused on supervising multiple client IT engagements for quality, client satisfaction, on-time completion, meeting budget, and consulting staff management of 5 to 170 team members and coordinating 20-30 consultants.

Directed a 9-month project for Key Bank boat and yacht loans that included upgrading 3 external Web company Web sites, interfacing with 12 external banks, developing one new Web site, and correcting support of a troubled loan system. Project yielded $9 million in new revenue during the first unadvertised month of system operation. Managed a $5 million budget and a 41-member staff.

Led a technical team that created 3 new middleware processes for Key Bank which linked savings, checking, and loan balances to all branches nationwide for the first time, thereby saving the bank $825,000 in redundant development costs.

Directed 8 project managers and their staffs for 34 Key Bank call center requested projects that were completed one month ahead of 11-month schedule and $700,000 under $9 million budget. This was accomplished through successful staff management and effective hardware vendor negotiations.

Surpassed Key Bank’s call center executives’ expectations with leadership of the $9 million budget when personally discovered excessive $22,540 per month pager charges. Subsequently, reduced charges to $1,666 per month, obtained better service, and recovered $40,000 from pager company overcharges.

Managed a 30-second instant credit Card process for Key Bank that facilitated booking of $45 million in

new credit balances within first year of system operation
