Design Engineer at Dee Zee Automotive Products, OEM GM Exteriors - Rooftop Luggage Carriers

Responsible for all CAD (NX) design. Studio consult of pre-design, studio output to assembly feasibility. Pre-production prototyping, test builds aero lab and durability testing. Production design of all components:

Aluminum extrusion Side and Cross Rails, stretch-bend and milling of same. Manufactured at/by Dee Zee, Des Moines, Iowa.

Aluminum castings of Supports and Stanchions – Design, testing, oversight and consult of suppliers.

Plastic injection molded TPO isolators (isolated castings & extrusion rails from roof). Design, testing, oversight and consult of suppliers.

WORKED FROM HOME OFFICE. HP Workstation Laptop loaded with GM TeamCenter, Native NX, NX w/ GM Tools, and NX integrated GM TeamCenter. All documents, both internal Dee Zee manufacturing 2D and GM 2D and Electronic GD&T (EGDT).
