RESEARCH EMPHASIS:

Opiate-G6PDH bioconjugates, ADCs, protein purification, conjugates characterization;

Organic synthesis, microwave assisted synthesis, peptide synthesis, biodegradable amphiphiles (Gemini surfactants, lipids, dendrimers), bioconjugates;

Structure characterization NMR, IR, UV-VIS, HPLC-MS, SFC-MS, MALDI;

Synthesis and reactivity studies of small heterocycles: 1,2,4-oxadiazoles, acridines, benzotriazole, imidazoles, triazoles, benzotriazoles, tacries, tetrazoles.

Formulation of small amphiphiles for drug / gene delivery;

Structure elucidation by 2D NMR, (1H 1H COSY, 1H 1H NOESY, 1H 13C gHMQC, 1H 13C gHMBC, 1H 15N CIGAR) – VARIAN (AGILENT) and BRUKER;

Analytical method development, LC purification (ISCO Combiflash Rf, Grace Reveleris, Gilson GX-281, puriFlash 450), protein characterization (HPLC waters, MALDI-TOF).

Designed, synthesized and characterized small heterocyclic amphiphiles as carbonic anhydrase activators with nanomolar potency against hCA VA and hCA VII;

Mentored two graduate students – organic synthesis, LC purification and NMR characterization

Prepared and formulated two series of cationic lipids and biodegradable Gemini surfactants, investigated the transfection efficiency and stability of these molecules including pre-formulation.
