Awards and Certifications

Completed BlueEdge Trainings (1&2) of Schlumberger by working on multiple reservoir and production engineering projects as part of the training

Certified Next Training from Schlumberger on Fundamentals of PIPESIM (Sep 2014)

Recipient of Graduate scholarship from Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering (2012 & 2013) Professional & Research Experience

Engineer (G9) – Schlumberger Information Solutions Aug 2014 – Apr 2016

History-matched the field production data of a turbidite reservoir using PETREL reservoir simulator and performed cluster analysis to identify wells in regions with same rock properties that needed similar workovers. Predicted three operational development scenarios by building economic models using Merak Peep. The scenarios I suggested increased the net profit margin by 30% and the initiative I took to utilze Google Earth pro for visualizing the identified wells was highly appreciated by Executive management

Estimated the reserves of Wayburn field and performed decline curve analysis for all wells using OFM to forecast cumulative production. Wells with unrecovered reserves, higher IRR and positive NPV were chosen as final candidates for stimulation. Generated pivot tables to report the gas, oil and water production rates from all wells

Analyzed the production database of SAPPHIRE field of Schlumberger in France. Used SQL queries, to identify wells with high water cuts and low oil production rates. Defined a field development plan to provide technical solutions that optimizes the field conditions after analyzing the economic indicators, which increased the production rates and the overall NPV to

$60M in the long term

Used PIPESIM interface to study well models, generate nodal analyses and vertical performance table to enhance production by various artificial lift techniques and made recommendations to clients based on the data insights extracted Master’s Thesis (Jan 2013 – Jul 2014)

Worked with Dr. Ahmad Jamili in shale gas consortium and developed a MATLAB code to quantify the changes in pressure distributions near wellbore over time when electrochemical ions of fluids in Shale gas reservoir interact with external fluids. Research was highly appreciated for I developed new correlations between various rock properties and pore pressure based on the regression analysis of the data generated

Oklahoma Geological Survey (May - Aug 2013)

Worked as student employee at OPIC, assisting to scan the well logs and also in preparing the core cuttings for industrial purposes.

Graduate Teaching Assistant, University of Oklahoma (August 2012 – May 2014)

Taught, graded and facilitated 170 undergraduate students in Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Petroleum reservoir fluids classes which helped me to become a skilled communicator.

Supervised a group of undergraduate students in the Core Laboratory of OU, ensured that experiments were run following the safety standards and helped to improve the grades of the group Research Projects

University of Oklahoma

Modeled a water injector and studied the decline in water injectivity due to filter cake formation using software REVEAL

Modeled a radial reservoir to study the Productivity decline in a gas condensate reservoir due to condensate banking and enhanced the production by minimizing the banking effects with new gas injectors using compositional simulator ECLIPSE.

Proposed a water flooding approach for a field with 5 production wells by comparing the performance of water injector, having one of the producers or new well as an injector, in terms of oil recovery using CMG Conference

Presented my poster on “Modeling the formation damage due to filter cake formation during water injection with reservoir simulator REVEAL” in the Annual SPWLA Conference 2013 at New Orleans. Chemical Engineering Internships/ Projects

Production of citric acid by fermentation of molasses (December 2011-May 2012) Anna University, Chennai, India

Optimized the production of citric acid by submerged fermentation based on material and energy balance calculations

Produced a final finance estimate for the entire project setup as a part of the chemical process design and Economic analysis performed ensured the payback period for the process is less than 6 years Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Chennai, India (June 2011– July 2011) Surveyed the end-to-end refining process and compiled ways to maximize the yield of distillates to improve gross margin. Bunge India Pvt Ltd. Trichy India (May 2010-July 2010) Identified process changes to reduce heat wastage and improve energy efficiency in the refinery by assessing and monitoring the efficiencies of various unit operations
