Managing an Operations team of 13 people for London/Singapore and Shanghai offices co-ordinating the Post Fixture and Ship Management Operations together with looking after my own vessels, ensuring relationships between Owners/Charterers and other entities are kept.

Looking after a number of post fixture vessels on time charter and voyage charter as follows:-

Create and send Voyage instructions and send to the Master

Raise hire /freight statements

Appoint Agents

Ordering and coordinate Bunkers, bunker suppliers

Appoint surveyors – preload surveys, on/off hire surveys

Appoint weather routing company

Arranging Armed guards for JWC area

Check Bills of Lading against Mates Receipts and all documentation involved.

Arranging underwater surveys

Liaising with P and I Club

Coordinate loading/discharging operations with shippers/receivers, super cargoes, agents

i.e. sending voyage instructions, dealing with Agents, Master, ordering and Coordinating bunker suppliers, weather routing, profit and loss on time charter and voyages, arranging underwater cleaning, any owners matters that need to be resolved i.e. sourcing through agent’s spare parts, arranging preload surveys in case of loading steels, coordinate loading/discharging operations with agents, shippers/receivers.

Promote the company/Operations expertise through - travel- client entertainment.

Management duties

Working alongside Managing Director of Dry Cargo Operations Department.

Managing a team 9 Operations Personnel for London/ Singapore and Shanghai offices and 2 Charter Party Secretaries.

Meetings with Broker teams to improve quality of service.

Involved in making decisions i.e. salaries, bonuses, holiday entitlement, maternity leave and assisting with training on various systems.

Implementing changes within the Operations department to improve operations service to clients. Signing documentation as an Authorised Signatory such as Charter Parties on behalf of the company and any other documentation pertaining to my role.

Chasing Debt alongside company Credit controllers, Debt management meetings liaising closely with the CEO / COO with regard to outstanding company debt and recovery of said debt.

Liaising with lawyers. P and I Clubs, Baltic Exchange and BIMO

Management meetings with Desk Heads assessing recovery of debt.

Implementing payment plans with company Legal Depts for debt recovery.

Employing staff where needed within Operations/Post fixture Department.

Training new Operations Personnel and supporting their roles, and provide training where needed.
