In some cases I would personally attend to the hire of marquees, entertainment etc. We also had an Open Weekend each year in July where we opened up the estate, along with most of the village, in aid of the village church funds. Both I and my gardener kept the estate maintained and tidy at all times, not just for our benefit, but to ensure any visitors would appreciate the grounds too.
