Estate Manager, Nr Bath (2004 – 2015)

Working as the Estate and House Manager for an international and high-profile couple at their Grade II listed estate. Since arriving there I upgraded the house, garden and lake with various projects such as: house and cottage extensions, update to the security systems, renovation of the lake, new pool room and sauna, borehole drilling, irrigation system and many interior projects within the house itself. In many cases I acted as project manager. Oversaw the responsibilities of the house keeper, catering and cleaning staff. When large parties were held (birthdays, weddings etc) I work with the Event Management company to ensure everything ran smoothly. In some cases I would personally attend to the hire of marquees, entertainment etc. We also had an Open Weekend each year in July where we opened up the estate, along with most of the village, in aid of the village church funds. Both I and my gardener kept the estate maintained and tidy at all times, not just for our benefit, but to ensure any visitors would appreciate the grounds too. I also dealt with all the financial aspects of the house: accounts, payments of invoices, insurance arrangements etc.

Estate Manager/Gardener, Timsbury Bath (2000 – 2004)

Responsible mainly for the upkeep and development of the 4 acre garden with swimming pool, management of the estate and any maintenance and cleaning work required for the property. Other duties included driving, assisting with household duties, family entertainment and the day-to-day estate expenses and relevant accounts.

Estate Manager, Devon – (1996 – 2000)

Responsible for 130 acre farm/leisure complex. Development of award-winning and quality barn and cottage conversions and ‘Finnish’ lodges. Along with other facilities such as fly/coarse fishing, swimming-pool, all weather tennis courts, shop, gym, sauna, games room, cleaning and laundry.

Freehouse Owner/Manager – self employed – (1993 – 1996)

Purchased, marketed and managed a quality Country Inn and Restaurant. Achieved respectful turnovers and margins. (Award winner)
