Dear Sir/Madam,

I have 36 years Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering experience (20 yrs Electrical), attaining the HND/Foundation Degree in Manufacturing Engineering (Mech/Elect).

I completed a Four Year Indentured Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship with British Coal, commencing in 1976.

I was District Mechanical Engineer, organising men with regards to installation and maintenance operations.

I ended up as ‘Mechanic of the Mine’, organising maintenance projects/schedules and ensuring that all Pre-Planned Maintenance works were carried out, with full written reports on all work undertaken, ensuring all administrative records are complete in accordance with company and statutory law.

I am currently working at British Gypsum, which has an excellent education and training programme in force, to attain the very best and create a ‘way ahead’ performance culture of employees.

I believe in continuous improvements, good/sound communication, excellent training programmes and high morale to each employee will attain the very best in teams/individuals, with engineering and engineers at the highest standards, developing teams/individuals of world class level.

My supervising role not only covered Planning & Scheduling Techniques, as well as Business Management Techniques, but also improving performance from machinery/equipment, analysing graph deterioration/improvements, which include computer logging, data, statistics, graphs, job costing, as well as ‘Setting clear objectives’; ‘SMART’ (Specific. Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time scheduled), and ‘World Class Manufacturing’ (quick Kaizens, good knowledge/information, efficiency), which will all improve the availability ‘Mean Time To Repair’ (MTTR) and ‘Mean Time Between Failure’ (MTBF).

Also improving performance through ‘Manufacturing Layouts’ (Group Technology using cells, Mi class etc.), ‘Work Study Techniques’; SCREDIM, ‘Cost Benefit Analysis’; Therbligs, TQM, MPR, Kanban, 7 Wastes & Hidden Losses, as well as Techniques of Improving Productivity and Continuous Focus on Improvement, including understanding how important it is to building strong relationships both Internal and External, with good team spirits.

I also have attained ‘HND/Foundation Degree’ in ‘Health & Safety/Risk Assessments’, as well as attaining the ‘NEBOSH’ (Managers) Health & Safety Certificate, as well as undertaking Company PUWER Risk Assessments/General Risk Assessments, including Environmental issues & Waste Management.

I am also prepared to undertake further educational/training to suit the company needs.

Kindest regards,

Ken Taylor
