Resume:

Thank you for taking the time to review my application.

I am a supply chain professional with nearly 5 years of experience; I have extensive experience in procurement, contract negotiations, and supplier management. I also enjoy and have a sound knowledge of logistics operations, commercial logistics, demand management, production planning, inventory management, forecasting, and supply chain engineering. I am a highly motivated, results driven professional who excels in problem solving, continuous improvement, data analytics, and ambiguous conditions. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation delivery. I believe what defines me as an employee is my determination to consistently exceed expectations and my desire to always bring additional value to my position or the task at hand.

In addition to my educational background which includes a bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management and an APICS CSCP certificate, I have gained extensive experience in procurement through the various professional positions of progressing responsibility that I have held throughout my career. In my most recent position as a Senior On-Site Services Buyer I have had the opportunity to build upon my previous experiences and really begin to master many of the procurement activities that I would also be responsible for in this role. Areas of procurement that I have become extremely proficient in include:

Creating, issuing, and managing RFx processes from start to finish.

Developing accurate, precise, and easily decipherable proposal analyses, including TCO analyses that take into account price, quality of goods and services, risk, and company goal alignment.

Recognizing how to make strong strategic sourcing decisions, and knowing when to split an award, or, consolidate spend.

Being able to create win-win scenarios with suppliers during contract negotiations and forming viable agreements that bring the best total value to my company.

Securing competitive pricing through commercial negotiations by using smart negotiating tactics such as: expanding the negotiations to find creative solutions, making concessions in non-critical areas, leveraging spend or contract duration, and developing alternative options.

Ensuring that new contract/supplier implementations are done strategically and with end user support to minimize learning curves, transition costs, animosity, and alternate sources of supply.

Having a very strong understanding of purchasing, bidding, and negotiation ethics.

Managing supplier/end-user relationships, goods and service quality, and contract compliance.

If given the opportunity to step into this role I know that my drive for results attitude, my desire to always go above any beyond expectations, and my strong work ethic will help me become a strong contributor.

Again, thank you for taking the time to review my application and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Patrick Marchant
