Thermal and Fluid Systems E Design & Project Mgmt. I&II Experience Special Topics in Engineering Biomedical Innovation Shadowed clinical environments to assess unmet needs and generate innovative solutions. Learned impact of solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and social context. Capstone Design Project
Implemented and executed engineering skills that included project management, teamwork, written/oral presentations, and summary reports employing MS Project schedule, ghant charts, EDS, SOLIDWORKS, and prototyping to address sponsor problem. Coding and Designing of Temperature Alarm and Water Sensor Programmed and designed MATLAB, LabVIEW and Excel codes to find adequate resistor values to create a temperature alarm utilizing a Wheatstone bridge, operational amplifiers and indicator circuit to control and manipulate voltage values within circuitry. Tested and analyzed circuitry on a breadboard using multimeter, oscilloscope, and function generator. Work History Biomedical Imaging Technician, East Carolina Heart Institute (December/2015 – December/2016)
Dissected rodent hearts for perfusion and digest to isolate primary myocytes
Developed ischemia and reperfusion periods of primary cells and whole hearts while imaging Olympus FV1000 Confocal & Multiphoton Microscope using Fluoview programming to capture mitochondrial and cell activity
Dissected and isolated single skeletal muscle cells from mice
Manufactured ischemia and reperfusion periods using Langendorff isolated heart perfusion technique under various pharmaceuticals for injury studies
Monitored localization of fluorescently tagged proteins and drugs using 2-D and 3-D images using multiple lasers for colocalization, competitive binding and injury studies using ImageJ software
