Detailed Description of Histological Duties:

Histotechnologist II:

Preparation of histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnostic analysis by Pathologist.

Prepare frozen sections from human and animal tissue processing, immediate examination via rapid processing - cryostat technique.

Operate computerized laboratory equipment to stain slides, using specialized or routine reagents.

Examine microscopic slides to ensure standardization to meet quality assurance.

Microscopic assays of slides to detect deviation from required standard and report abnormalities for corrective measures.

May supervise activities of laboratory personnel and Interns training.

Conduct anatomical pathological procedures in assigned area as assigned - Grossing.

Exercise independent judgement with minimal supervision, in areas which require high

degree of theoretical and practical insight in area licensed - ( QA.).

Good technical skills to troubleshoot procedural and technical issues, with pleasant and professional demeanor.

Responsibility with compliance to attendance policies ( absenteeism and tardiness ).

Perform QA activities related to assays performed.

Compliance with national and state requirements, inspections and licensure and perform duties related to Medical Technology.
