Objective

To leverage my 10+ years of petroleum analytical laboratory experience, business etiquette, and expertise in research and development into furthering my career opportunites. All while bringing my work ethic and values with me.

Education

University of Houston, Houston, TX

Bachelor of Science ’03-‘07

Environmental Sciences

Experience

September 2008 – March 2016

Chemical Analyst II Core Laboratories Houston, TX

I performed analytical studies dealing with high pressure, low pressure, high temperature, and low temperature on petroleum samples using mercury cells as well as mercury-free cells. I determined viscosities using electromagnetism and high pressure densities along with atmospheric densities. I calculated molecular percentages of hydrocarbons (Octane, Heptane, N-Butane, Methane, Hexane, I-Pentane, to name a few) for synthetic fluid combinations and preparing the synthetic fluids for recombination fluids. I often tested for Minimum Miscibility Pressure using a Slim Tube Apparatus. I also authored, reviewed, and revised SOPs and Analytical Methods. Working with instrument software was also expected of me. I had to troubleshoot the software to be sure it synced with the instruments it was designed to perform for. I trained new personal on some of the analytical studies. I am also knowledgeable on many different types of Swagelok fittings and valves. I frequented advanced rock property analysis and routine rock property analysis as well. Some analyses included Core Flooding and Centrifugal Extraction. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment as well as repairing equipment when needed.

June 2007 – August 2008

Petroleum Trace Analyst II Nalco Champion Fresno TX

I specialized in the S.A.R.A. analysis using Latroscan TLC-FID. I was also responsible for updated project data in LIMS as well as logging in newly arrived samples into LIMS. I purchased reagents, solvents, and laboratory supplies for the lab group. I performed trace analysis of hydrocarbons using GC, and GC-MS. I worked many types of compressed gases from CO2, Helium, Zero Air, N2, and many more. General housekeeping of laboratory was also part of duty.

April 2005 – May 2007

Environmental Lab Technician TestAmerica Houston, TX

I logged and tracked the receipt and shipment of all samples into and out of the laboratory. I determined the priority level of and appropriate testing procedures of samples according to Chain of Custody, labeled and stored samples appropriately. I prepared bottle kits for delivery to clients to gather samples. I delivered bottle kits to clients as well picked up samples from clients along with COCs. I disposed of waste in accordance to DOT regulations. I also performed wet chemistry analysis. All while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Instrumentation

I am trained in the following instruments: Phase behavior equipment including PVT Cells, High Precision, High-Pressure Syringe Isco Pumps, Electromagnetic Viscometer, Atmospheric Densitometer, High Pressure Densitometer, Flash Point, latroscan TLC-FID, GC, GC-MS, balances, Cryogenic Distillation Unit, vacuum pumps, ovens, centrifuges, MMP/MME Unit, E-DWT Electronic Deadweight Tester, compressed gases, Multi-Stage Phase Separator, Centrifugal Extractor, Core Flooding System, Slim Tube Apparatus, Pneumatic Gas Booster, high pressure valves and cylinders, regulators and other ancillary instruments and systems.
