GREAT NORTHERN ENGINEERING Kuparuk Oil Field 2007 - Present

Engineer II / Technician

Collaborate with crew tasked with replacing GE Mark IV controls with GE Mark VI-e for Frame III turbine driving gas compressors. Design and install new instrument control loops connecting to the Bailey DCS system. Redline prints and update SAP system documents to reflect changes and updates. Design, develop, and commission instrument and control packages including identifying appropriate transmitters and installing instruments, making control loop changes per Process Safety Management (PSM) control requirements.

Collaborate with crews tasked with removing and replacing turbine control panels. Utilize SAP system to reference work orders, prints, and spare parts; update SAP with redlined prints and product structure for device spare parts; update notification section of Work Order documents to build and maintain product history.

Key Accomplishment:

Leveraging SME to oversee project to build Bailey system with 117 termination units and slave modules, connecting cables, power supply strips, and setting dip switches and jumpers, which will provide significant cost savings by replacing an obsolete system with an updated, reliable control system.

CONOCOPHILIPS Kuparuk Oil Field, North Slope, AK 1985 - 2006

Instrument Technician Electrical & Instrument Foreman

Led maintenance of 34.5KV and 13.8KV power lines for Seawater Treatment Plant (STP) CPF-3 location of Kuparuk Field; hired and coordinated helicopter power line washing crews and power linemen. Maintained plant instruments and control system to minimize downtime. Repaired control valves and transmitters for flow, pressure, temperature, and vibration equipment. Performed preventative maintenance on filed instruments and turning control loops to drive high production capabilities.

Key Accomplishment:

Oversaw instrument and electrical functional check-out and start-up for Central Processing Plant #3 (CPF-3); managed continued maintenance of all process instruments and electrical switchgear of Seawater Plant and CPF-3.
