BEFORE TESTING:

Performed wiring, safety routings of cables and assembled bus bars with enough clearance b/w each phases

analyzed the wiring diagram in panel

Verified the part list for corresponding panel by sap codes

Checked the components mounted as per design document (GA)

Inspected the ratings, supplier and the type of components used in panel as stated in bill of material

Visualized the panel physically and found the technical faults in panel wiring like wrong wiring, loose connections, wire missing, cable crimping etc.,

Reworked and re-inspected the reputable points and finalized whether they are perfect or not.

Then performed the torque inspection for each components terminals based on the data given

IN TESTNG:

Performed Megger test to find the insulation level of panel

Performed High Voltage Test for panel at 2.5KV

Again Performed Megger test to find the improvement in insulation level of panel

Then tested of whole panel functions by giving 690V, as per FTPC document

FINAL YEAR PROJECT

Project Title : “Dense Phase Pneumatic Fly Ash Handling System Using PLC”

Implementation : Programmable Logic Controller

Project Description

The Main Objective of this project is to handle fly ash by using Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Previously in NLC-TPS II, fly ash was handled by Relay Logic controller. Finally, we succeeded handling the same efficiently & effectively with the help of PLC.

In thermal power station, the control of ash conveying process from the hoppers below electrostatic precipitator (ESP) to main silos is done by using relay logic control. These relay logic control has been changed by an alternative programmable logic control. We split the whole ash conveying process into two sequence i.e., from (i) hoppers to intermediate silo and (ii) intermediate silo to main silo. Our project also includes the sensing of ash level present in the hoppers, timing control, pressure measurement and blower, all are controlled using PLC.

The main reason why we have taken up project is that: trail running is possible, timers and counters are available as software, it will support for future expansion, which are not possible in relay logic.
