Role: SharePoint Developer

ADM is the tool which acts as a central allocation rule document repository. In Microsoft Finance group, these rules are the key to produce the financial results. The tool helps users to select the documentation method to add their files. The solution implemented was to help users to upload the documents and add the reference to the right metadata available across different lists. All the documents are linked as the lookup columns to other lists.

The other main module in this role is, importing the rules from the SQL Server. The solution implemented was through external lists by configuring external content types. But, the users can’t use the data as is from SQL Server. The data should be imported first from External list in a batches of 2000 records and then copy them to different list by updating extra columns with data from Active Directory (Who service) for further processing. To avoid the list threshold limit in the external list and import list we have designed a way by writing code in JavaScript, client object model and web services.
