Regional Administrator Duties:
Provided direct supervision for a total of 530 beds in Central and Western New York. Developed programs that resulted in a patient / resident satisfaction rate of 95% in all buildings.
Completed a comprehensive restructuring of each facility that included but was not limited to the development and implementation of departmental budgets, consolidation of job duties, streamlining the care process to eliminate redundant processes.
Recruited and developed competent staff capable of making each facility financially stable and clinically competitive.
Developed in-house rehabilitation programs so that each facility operated with a sub-acute rehab census between 24 and 35 percent. Instituted a case mix management system that resulted in each facility consistently having a case mix index (CMI) between 1.22 and 1.30.
Developed an acuity based staffing system for long term and sub-acute residents. Developed and implemented nursing hour budgets based on changing acuity.
Developed an extensive marketing program targeting short term care residents. Over a four-year period, the sub-acute census doubled in each facility
Instituted a quality assurance survey preparation program based on in house clinical data and CASPER Report analysis so that each facility was engaged in ongoing monthly survey preparedness.
Provided oversight for several renovations and construction projects including the development of a million-dollar rehabilitation room addition.
Participated in contract negotiations for all four facilities. Represented each facility in all grievance and arbitration proceedings. Recently involved with the decertification of the SEIU 1199 at Valley View Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
10/05 – 11/09 Administrator
Sunrise Nursing Home
Successfully guide the facility through a labor strike from October 2005 to December 2006, resulting in the Union being decertified.
Despite the labor strike, I was able to develop a short-term program that increased the Medicare census by more than 3,700 billable days.
Successfully recruited healthcare professionals including Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Director of Nursing, MDS Coordinator, Registered Dietician, Dietary Director and Director of Environmental Services
Successfully increased the facility Medicaid case mix by 17 index points which resulted in a Medicaid rate increase of more than eleven dollars per patient day.
Developed a comprehensive marketing program that increased the facility census by 12% during a labor strike.
Successfully guided the facility through a comprehensive renovation project, from construction budget to project completion, which included but was not limited to new interior finishes, windows, and resident room furnishings.
Successfully lead the facility to repeat successful DOH Surveys with no deficiencies at a level of (G) or above.
