CFD Analysis of Pelton Turbine Bucket.
Performance prediction of hydraulic machines, such as efficiency and dynamic behavior, under different operating conditions, is of high interest to manufacturers.
Numerous CFD analyses on the flow in Pelton buckets have previously been carried out, but apparently a transient analysis of a free surface water jet interacting with Rotating Pelton buckets, has not yet been attempted so far. The main objective of this thesis was to visualize water flow in Pelton Bucket and to establish and validate a CFD model that predicts the torque applied to a non-stationary Pelton bucket, subject to a high speed water jet. 2 Page
Research Work
Wind Turbine Blade Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) Analysis. This project was about the deformation due to Aerodynamics loading of a wind turbine blade by performing a steady state 1-way fluid structure analysis.
In part 1: ANSYS FLUENT used to develop the aerodynamics loading on the blade. In part 2: The pressures on the wetted area of the blade are passed as pressure load to ANSYS MECHANICAL to determined stresses and deformation on the blade.
