Planning and scheduling of 110 MW steam turbine upgrade/major overhauling project.

Inspection of major valves that included Main Steam Valve (MSV), Combined Reheat Valves (CRV) and Steam Control Valves (SCV) during the annual shut down

Mechanical Engineer

Worked at Thermal Power Station of capacity 1665 MW for WAPDA. The Power Station had oil & gas fired steam units and modern combined cycle power plants. Stationed on steam power generation units of 220 MW, I was responsible for the followings:

Operation of 220 MW Steam Power Plant with steam Boiler/Turbines and auxiliary equipments including boiler feed, condensate, lube and hydraulic oil systems pumps

Supervision of 370 TPH boiler and its associated equipment including ID, FD and RC fans

Scheduling the maintenance and testing of steam turbines and Utilities.

Overseeing routine and preventive maintenance of boiler feed water, condensate, cooling water pumps and their allied valves.

Troubleshooting of Steam Plant and associated equipments (LP, HP Heaters, de-aerators etc).

Issuance of Trouble Report (TR) of the faulty equipments through Maintenance Management System (MMS) to concerned maintenance department.

Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) of faulty equipment for repair purpose.

Testing after repair and bring back into service.

HVAC system operation / maintenance and their related equipment.

Checking of Fire Hydrant line and Storage Pressure.

Checking of Emergency Diesel Power Generator.

Log book maintenance and daily report writing of the shift.

In turbine major overhaul project I was involved in the following activities:

Inspection of HP, IP and LP steam path

Development of the maintenance procedures for journal bearings

Daily technical advice to journeymen during the shut down

May 1993 – May 1994 Sector Specific Steam Power Training at WAPDA Academies.
