Selected Accomplishments

Upgraded company-wide business management systems. Established and loaded hundreds of American Ordnance (AO) inspection plans into SAP. Reviewed and customized a new Root-Cause Corrective and Preventive Action process. Achieved 100% on-time implementation for all SAP Quality inputs and modules as well as an RCCA process that strengthened emphasis on preventive action.

Reduced supplier issues. Supplier service and quality had slipped to unacceptable levels. Improved communication with suppliers and with internal resources. Established a subcontracted service to conduct inspections at suppliers’ sites prior to shipment to AO. Improved customer satisfaction approximately 30%.

Preserved profitability. Two failures in the first year of production, shortly after a new product launch jeopardized profitability. Analyzed causes and potential causes. Modified processes and SOP’s. Incurred zero test failures for the next two years. Enabled AO to meet financial projections for this product line.

Boosted customer satisfaction. Strengthened UL-DQS Auditors’ knowledge of statistics and how to audit statistical techniques. Developed and delivered statistics training at National and Regional UL-DQS Meetings.

Designed and implemented an Environmental Management System for a BASF plant. Integrated it with their existing Quality Management System (QMS). Included risk analysis of aspects and impacts, and other necessary elements of ISO-14001. Enabled the plant to add ISO-14001 registration to their existing ISO-9001 registration.

Secured third party ISO-9001 certification for a RELTEC organization. Developed and implemented a Quality Management System that conformed to ISO-9001. Obtained registration by a third-party Registrar on the first try for this manufacturer of telecommunications equipment.

Upgraded MSA skills. Management of an AISIN plant wanted to upgrade their Management Systems Analysis skills. Developed and delivered classroom and hands-on training sessions for this automotive client. Improved understanding and eliminated poor practices related to MSA. Cut measurement system error significantly.

Systems Quality Engineering Manager - American Ordnance LLC - 2015 to 2016. An 1,100-employee, $239M ammunitions items manufacturer. Promoted to lead a team of five Quality Engineers, four Quality Technicians, 21 Audit Inspectors, 18 Internal Auditors and Manufacturing Engineers. Kept prior duties.

Senior Quality Engineer - American Ordnance LLC - 2012 to 2016. Recruited to manage plant-wide suppliers for all ammunition items. Also in charge of quality for assigned LAP Lines and the plant-wide internal audit process.

Lead Auditor and Qualifier - Underwriters Laboratory-DQS - 1999 to 2012. Conducted audits for conformance with ISO/TS 16949, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards. Led a five-person team.

Consultant - 1998 to 2012. Managed teams of up to ten employees to complete projects at the behest of clients in a variety of industries. Developed, maintained and improved Management Systems for ISO/TS 16949, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-14021, OHSAS 18001, and ISO/IEC 17025.
