The job site ownership/management has transitioned to Westinghouse, operating as WecTec, to manage the

construction of the AP1000 Nuclear Reactor.

New Nuclear Construction V.C. Summer Nuclear Plants Units 2 &3

Construction of AP1000 Advanced Passive Nuclear Reactor in Jenkinsville, SC. Safety is of upmost importance

throughout the entire job site being practiced daily via activities such as JSA meetings every morning, Tuesday all

hands meetings, multiple safety groups around the site. Welding materials consist of a wide range of grades for

Stainless/Carbon steels, Chromium, and also Duplex steels to build the reactor piping systems, shield walls, and

containment areas. Use of fillet weld, V-wac, Hi-Lo, Taper, and other visual weld inspection tools and gauges to insure

proper conformance to code, and in order to minimize the amount of re-work. All welds are inspected by Certified

Weld Inspectors, including certified NDE technicians, to maintain satisfactory welds throughout the construction phase

of the nuclear plant. The nuclear plant is to be built as designed so the specifications, blueprints, and weld procedures

shall be followed exactly. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and South Carolina Energy & Gas (SCE&G)

are on the job site at all times and can perform weld surveillances at any time in order to verify the welds are being

produced within the parameters of the code, specifications, and certified procedures.

Stainless and Carbon Pipe Welder 1/14-7/14

Construction of a new Michelin plant with complex piping systems. Pipe lines vary from air and water lines to steam

and 6,000 p.s.i hydraulic lines. Welds were to be made using the Tig welding process. Welds were specified to tight

tolerances. Responsible for understanding and converting schematic prints from the metric system to the standard

system of measuring. Must maintain safe work habits and environment by understanding surroundings and

regulations. Hydraulic system was to be inspected by means of 10 percent X-ray, pressure testing, and several cycles

of chemical flushing.

Stainless Tig Pipe Welder 10/13-1/14

Responsible for all stainless and carbon pipe system installations. Working with limited supervision I must build

product to the specifications of schematic drawings designed by engineers. All grades of stainless may be used varying

from type 304 to type 316. Weld must also meet code regulations achieved by purging of oxygen, open root welding,

and keeping pipe within required temperatures. The work environment and weld shop must remain clean. Knowledge

of all tools required to job such as calipers, power hand tools, pneumatic hand tools, safety harness, and welding

apparatus. Willingness to work weekends and overtime on an as needed basis.

Responsible for keeping very tight tolerances when installing pipe systems of either stainless or carbon steel. Assist

millrights with installing various pumps, valves, and other industrial systems. All systems were inspected before

approval. Responsible for understanding isometrics print and installing the pipe system correctly. Must meet Cytec

scheduling deadlines to have pipe systems complete. Tolerances too .002 of an inch on some welds. Weld must be

free of and and all defects in order to meet code regulations. Working knowledge of all tools needed, weld parameters,

base and filler material applications for the various alloys.

Responsible for tig welding of stainless steel with tight tolerances. Product must exceed customer needs and be

finished on time in order to be shipped. Must also meet customer specifications in order to ensure equipment will not

welds. Maintain a clean work environment including work piece being free of excessive wear and distortion.
