Adjunct staff for Early Childhood Education Dept

I was able to teach in various settings for a variety of students. I taught middle college, high school students. Aug. 2014-Present

Teacher at Omni Montessori Pre-school

I am the teacher and there is a Master teacher in the classroom also. I had not experienced Montessori Method of teaching before so this became a learning experience for me too. I found this experience to very eye opening to me and showed me other ways children can learn.

Jan 2007 – May 2014 Granny’s House Redwood City, CA 94061

Owner/ educator

This is a small family childcare and I am responsible for all the care and development of the children in my care. My curriculum for this center is child driven. I specialized in outdoor classroom and we make a point of doing much of our day outside. We garden, we walk in our neighborhood and meet all the people around us, we use the public parks. I am a family childcare center and much of the learning goes on within a family structure. The older children look out for the younger children and the younger children strive to do what the older children do. I emphasis learning the social skills that will carry children on to a successful school life. We learn how to conflict/resolve, to be respective of each person’s learning style and how to get work in a group setting. I have children from many different ethnicities and many different parenting styles to accommodate. I find this part of my work very exciting as I believe the parent is their child’s first teacher and knows their child best so it is my job to help 8m to 5 years.
