Work History
January 2013 to December 2014: Zambia National Farmers’ Union
Position: Credit and Marketing Facilitator – Choma District
Responsibilities
Conduct field visits, talking to farmers about Zambia National Farmers’ Union services
Facilitate the giving of farmer input loans to farmers in the respective districts (Choma, Kalomo and Pemba), distribution of these inputs to qualified farmers and help create market linkages for their produce
Form partnerships with other stakeholders to help meet farmers’ needs in the respective districts
Ensure farmers both members and none members understand the Lima Credit Scheme currently run in conjunction ZANACO through ZNFU
Sensitize farmers in Gender issues and ensure women and youth participation in various agricultural activities and projects.
Sensitize Farmers in HIV/AIDS issues and partner with Health related organizations to help farmers understand the serious of HIV/AIDS.
Inculcate the business mentality in women and young farmers through trainings
Facilitate the training of farmers in various areas they need help
Represent the office in District and other meetings requiring the organization’s presence.
Write weekly brief reports on what is pertaining in the districts in relation to farmers’ welfare
