Maintained and operated $12,000,000 Naval main propulsion and auxiliary equipment. Discovered and isolated a major fuel leak during a routine operation out at sea, preventing a major fire and thousands of dollars in damage to ship. Received the Navy and Marine Corps achievement medal.

Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance on four Fairbanks Morse Colt-Pielstick V16 P.C 2.5 main propulsion diesel engines, five Caterpillar 3608 series inline eight diesel engine generators, two Sauer model 3 stage medium pressure air compressors, 3 Dresser-Rand Rix Star model low pressure air compressors, three Naval reverse osmosis units, two electrolytic disinfectant generators, four Alfa Laval oil purifiers, and centrifugal type pumps. Lead gauge calibration technician responsible for the calibration and corrective action of all pressure gauges, pressure switches, temperature reading devices, and instruments throughout the vessel's engineering plant.

Very experienced in using tag-out/ lockout procedures and system. Read and used system diagrams, layouts, and schematics. Planned and performed over 500 preventative and corrective maintenance checks on all engineering machinery.

Performed over 200 preventative and corrective maintenance on all portable and installed fire fighting equipment and damage control systems.

Lead and assisted on all major repairs to vital machinery. Maintained the upkeep and cleanliness of work stations and engineering space. Trained junior and senior personnel in the basic principles of naval engineering and the operation of machinery.

Experienced plant and equipment operator ; for start-up, shutdown, data recording, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to plant machinery and subsystems. Used computer based programs to record, input, and update the readiness of all machinery and calibration equipment.
