Responsibilities:

Supervision of testing and commissioning team for GT26CW (3300HP) locomotive with latest railroad technology (i.e. EM2000).

Lead the team of technicians to conduct load and track tests and check the parameters of all components, equipment such as horse power (HP), temperature, pressures, generator excitation, battery charging and overloading condition.

Supervision of all type of electrical works on locomotives/rolling stock.

Strong ability to perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, analysis, fault detection of locomotive/rolling stock electrical systems (microprocessor based instrumentation & control system on diesel electric locomotive EMD GT26CW 3300 HP) sub-systems and components including mechanical, pneumatic and auxiliary equipment.

Guide the maintenance personal to diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus & repairs of motors, relays, switches, contactors, sensing devices, power diodes. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, electrical power generation and distribution equipment.

Take charge of installation works i.e. Power supply cables, wiring and conduit for installed machines and equipment such as motors, rotating machinery, pumps, lighting and alarm system.

Organize the training for staff from different running maintenance shops.

Organize seminars and conferences related to running maintenance.

Supporting Pakistan Railway staff for technical troubleshooting, provide them required theoretical and practical training for best maintenance practice and procedure of EMD Locomotives.

Providing Electrical and Mechanical technical support to Customer (Pakistan Railways) for EMD designed and supplied Locomotives and Components.

Analysis of data to identify failure pattern and providing adequate solutions.

Analyze and test of microprocessor based computer control system (EM2000), event recorder software (MultiRec-SG, EVA2) and Sensors & Transducers, advance microprocessor based instrumentation installation, testing, and synchronization control of magnetic valves, current transformers, voltage transformers, pressure switch, and liquid level switches.

Assist the maintenance team to trouble shoot and maintain the running locomotives/rolling stock and prepare inspection reports.

Perform quick round trip auditing and inspection on locomotive.

Monitoring & control of the relevant company procedures to ensure that they are followed correctly rectify and implement any deficiencies reported by the user.

Preparing daily and weekly technical reports.

Transformer electrical/ oil testing (In process) - (all routine and type tests on transformers/ as per WAPDA specifications i-e core losses, copper losses, high voltage, induced over voltage, turn ratio, temperature rise, lightening impulse voltage, short circuit, vector group, pressure test, winding resistance, meggar test, dielectric strength, flash point, acidity test, sediments & sludge, Color & appearance, kinematic viscosity test, pour point, specific gravity, visual inspection).

In-process inspections of rewinding/overhauling/repair transformers up to 1250 KVA, which includes following process: Manufacturing of windings (Layer, Disc and Helical), core building/stacking, core coil assembly, ovening, tanking, oil filtration, and final assembly /dispatch inspections.

Performing incoming transformer inspection which includes fault diagnosis, condition assessment, testing of transformer accessories, preparation of initial inspection report including physical inspection, electrical/oil test results analysis, root cause failure analysis etc.

Having experience of condition monitoring, rewinding, refurbishment of distribution transformers and power transformer up to 1250KVA.

Repairing experience of all under warranty transformers up to 26 MVA.

Experience in Transformer Erection/Commissioning/Testing at Various Sites.

Responsible to prepare documents related to the test Schedule, test Procedure and final test report for customer.

Ensuring timely calibration of test equipment.

Communicate to respective team the QA System and monitor the implementation.

Raising non-conformance reports (NCR) on product & process violations.

Identify non conformances and take preventive and corrective actions.
