Professional Experience

A year and five months of work experience as an intern at Standard Chartered Bank Zimbabwe in the Finance Department. Within this period I learnt the general overview of the finance structure and the importance of various roles both within the banking sector and the external environment. I was exposed to systems and challenges that improved my computer literacy as well as my ability to extract and analyze information.

Duties included;

Preparation and submission of regulatory reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Reconciliation of suspense accounts and accrual accounts in the Finance department

Administrator for the department, tasks included but not limited to managing leave plans, organizing employee volunteering, assistant to the Chief Financial Officer and stationery management

Analyzing creditors ageing, and reconciling their accounts as well as ensuring timely payment of these accounts so as to meet payment terms.

Daily trial balance analysis

Raising purchase orders and working with supply chain management on issues relating to suppliers.

Also have work experience as a finance intern in the fast foods services business, working under Simbisa Brands.
