Accomplishments

Contributed to evolution of wireless networks from voice-only traffic to networks supporting voice /high speed data services and increased need for bandwidth at cell sites.

Plan and design specific transport requirements and specifications for services, choosing the right technology and appropriate network for the application.

Investigate new approaches to scale mobile backhaul networks cost-effectively and the shift to Ethernet based connectivity at cell sites that are highly scalable and reliable.

Participated in Six Sigma events to decrease cycle time for Collector Circuit reinforcements, new RNC implementation cycle-time, and new ALU SIAD process control.

Spearheaded cost analysis of capital expenses and organizational design for infrastructure improvements to manage new traffic and T1 service for migrated Ethernet 3G/4G connection.

Contributed to R&D efforts in supporting the implementation of new Ethernet transport equipment and transport, including First Field Applications, technical documentation, process, and IT/database documentation.

Professional Experience

AT&T Pewaukee, WI

Principal Network Planning Engineer – Mobility – Fundamental Network Planning 2011 – 2016

Supported AT&T’s deployment of faster 3G/4G speeds through network enhancement strategies designed to provide customers with the best possible broadband experience.

Provided planning to meet the demands of projected New Site Builds, forecasted data growth, and technology-driven up-speeds onto existing Ethernet infrastructure architecture.

Performed capacity analysis to determine locations and circuits requiring Ethernet circuit and equipment augments.

Combined new technology with enhanced cell site backhaul connections to continue to increase the number of high speed backhaul connections to cell sites Implemented plans to deliver 4G using HSPA+ and LTE technologies, including the acceleration of the LTE network build and the rapid expansion of Ethernet and fiber to cell sites nationwide.

Lead Network Engineer Sales Support 2003 – 2011

Combined technical expertise with parallel soft skill disciplines including business acumen, presentation skills, building customer relations, and developing engagement strategies.

Supported pre-sales opportunities within the retail sales department by developing network designs, evaluation of equipment selection, and special construction pricing.

Product Lines: GigaMAN, DecaMAN, OPTEWAN, SONET Rings, and OC3s.

Technical Sales Consultant 3 – SBC Long Distance 2000 – 2002

Translated customer business requirements into functional and technical requirements.

Completed network proposals, generated network design, equipment selection, and special construction pricing for Enterprise Long Distance Ethernet/SONET opportunities to third party telecommunications companies.

Provided technical support in sales presentations, briefings, and system demonstrations.

Earlier Experience – AT&T

Provisioning Support Center Manager – HICAP SBC-Midwest

Implemented a Provisioning Support Center and acted as interface with outside plant engineering and circuit provisioning manager creating “spans” in telecom database to support HICAP provisioning service orders.

Broadband Center Network Engineer - Ameritech

Identified and inventoried Lightspan equipment, fiber and circuit assignments into (TIRKS) inventory database for 300 +/- remote terminals across Wisconsin and western portion of Michigan.

Optimized T1/DS3/OC3 circuit inventory to be provisioned accurately and quickly, reducing service delivery to the Company's customers.

Design Engineer, Outside Plant Organization - Ameritech

Coordinated all remote terminal work, including, fiber cable, multiplexer equipment, digital subscriber carrier equipment (SLC), tie panels, DSX panels for +/- 50 remote terminals within southeastern Wisconsin.

Issued work orders, monitored capacity, and initiated service turn-up and equipment removals, cable placement (buried, underground and aerial), line and station transfers, service interface equipment, service terminals, etc.

Network Manager Ameritech

Coordinated all aspects of the Lightspan Build (DSC) for the southern parts of Waukesha and Milwaukee counties, including oversight of fiber deployment, equipment delivery, splicing/test/turn-up and migration.
